ABOUT
My name is Marilyn Paige Clark, and I am from Dallas, TX. I am a University of Alabama graduate. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Information Sciences with a major in Communication Studies and a minor in Computing Tech and Applications.
I have an extensive background in marketing and communications. During my time at the University of Alabama campus, I had an internship opportunity at the YMCA of Tuscaloosa doing marketing and communication. I focused a lot on social media marketing during the experience. As one of my first experiences, this propelled my future in marketing and interest in the mar-com bridge.
After graduating from UA, I moved back to my home city of Dallas where I became a social media intern manager for Saving the Date Events, a Texas event planning and wedding planning business located in Dallas. From there, I received contract opportunities for social media marketing. I became a Social Media Specialist at The Bogle Agency in Fort Worth early Fall 2019. Later that fall, I worked as a part-time social media coordinator at Brynn Bagot Public Relations in Dallas. Both of those experiences showed me how everything works in social media from a marketing agency standpoint as well as a PR agency standpoint.
In spring of 2020, I began a new position as Marketing Coordinator for a Commercial Real Estate Group in Dallas. In this role, I handled marketing material, created social media content and put together content calendars each month for social media channels. In January 2021, I got a new opportunity by becoming a Digital Marketing Coordinator for a real estate, hospitality and investment group. I grew a lot during that experience and learned a lot more about Digital Marketing by working on web listings, collaborating with vendors, creating conversational marketing programs, and much more. With my experiences in the previous role and my tech skills, I worked more closely with the real estate side.
Present-day, I have changed industry paths by exploring the healthcare marketing route. I took the opportunity to be a Marketing Coordinator for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I have been in this role for over two years now, and the department has grown exponentially in their marketing. I have grown in my email marketing skills, facilitating the marketing material process, ordering marketing material and marketing swag items. I have also grown in my team work skills, communicated with doctors and their administrative assistants on what is new with their practice. I have also done marketing on the clinical side as well as the academic side for our residency program and fellowship programs. I have grown in my website content management skills and social media management skills. Overall, I have learned many facets of Healthcare Marketing from clinical to educational.
In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, spending time with family, traveling, shopping, fashion, reading, trying new foods and drinks, talking about pop culture, and watching my favorite movies and shows.
